Queensland Community Housing Standards and Accreditation Council
Our purpose
The Queensland Community Housing Standards and Accreditation Council encourages continuous quality improvement in community housing. We do this by promoting a system of accreditation which is linked to National Community Housing Standards. Our aim is to facilitate quality service provision by community housing organisations.
The Council was originally formed in February 1999. The current Council was appointed in October 2008 for a period of up to three years.
Our values
The Council is committed to ensuring that the accreditation process is objective, transparent, systematic and rigorous. We believe in:
- ongoing consultation and partnership
- team work and a multidisciplinary approach
- meeting stakeholders' needs and exceeding their expectations
- continuously improving the quality of our services
- measuring and evaluating performance, and
- peer review.
Our objectives
We aim to:
- facilitate continuous quality improvement by community housing organisations through a system of accreditation linked to a national accreditation framework
- evaluate and continue to develop the accreditation system in consultation with stakeholders in community housing
- promote the national community housing standards and the accreditation system, including its values, purpose and outcomes, to all stakeholders in community housing, and
- provide access to information and resources about the National Community Housing Standards and accreditation process to all stakeholders in community housing.
