Accreditation Status Reports
Background
From 1 January 2004, community housing providers seeking accreditation have been evaluated and accredited under the second edition of the National Community Housing Standards and the revised accreditation system. Under this revised system, Accreditation Status Reports for those organisations that are accredited are made publicly available.
The Accreditation Status Report consists of:
- the current accreditation status of the organisation;
- background information about the organisation's work and history;
- an overview of the evaluation team's assessment of the organisation's performance, identifying major achievements as well as major areas for improvement; and
- the names of the members of the evaluation team.
Methodology
The community housing provider evaluates its own performance by using the Self-Study Report. The evaluation team then visits the organisation to carry out the external evaluation. The process of external evaluation involves an intensive process of information gathering. This may include:
- reviewing the pre-evaluation questionnaire and other documentation of various kinds;
- conducting interviews with a range of stakeholders, such as management committee members and staff;
- inspection of office facilities and equipment;
- assessing policies and procedures;
- reviewing the tenancy and property audit records;
- interviewing tenants;
- review of reports that summarise information gathered from questionnaires undertaken by the organisation with its tenants and with other organisations; and
- interviews with key referral organisations and the organisation's funding body.
Assessment criteria
The evaluation team has assessed the organisation's performance by rating them against each standard on a five-point scale, as outlined below:
*The three categories of evidence are documentation, processes and measuring outcomes.
